Gaston SUISSE (1896-1988) Black panther in the bamboos, 1927. Woodcut, on pearly Japan, proof enhanced by the artist. India ink and India ink wash, signed lower left and dated 1927 right À vue 24 x 44 cm. History: The artist made a woodcut from which he himself made some twenty proofs . These proofs were not commercialized as they were, Gaston Suisse took over each of the proofs using Chinese ink washes, in order to obtain different effects for each proof, which are therefore unique original works .
