Background:
Sonia Delaunay was given the honour of creating two monumental sets to decorate the staircase of the railway pavilion at the 1937 Paris International Exhibition of Art and Technology.
The gouache that we present is a study for "Voyages lointains", one of these two medallions.
A certificate from Mr. Richard RISS will be given to the purchaser.
