In 1840, commissioned by Nicholas I, Perrot began publishing lithographs of views of Saint Petersburg based on his own drawings. Of the hundred lithographs planned, only twenty saw the light of day, the edition having been interrupted by his sudden death.
Captioned in Russian and French.
Reproduced by Hauser in Paris. 1844. Handwritten in brown ink lower right: "I certify the present proof to be in conformity with the print run I propose to make. April 27, 1844. The signature is cut off.
